Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Booklink platform ("Service") operated by Tora Technologies (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in South Africa with its principal place of business in Cape Town, Western Cape.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Booklink is an online booking and appointment scheduling platform designed for South African small businesses and solo service providers. The Service allows you to create bookable services, manage availability, accept online bookings via shareable booking links, and optionally collect payments through third-party payment providers.
2. Accounts
You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Each account must represent a real business or individual service provider. You may not create accounts for the purpose of abuse, spam, or any activity that violates these Terms or applicable law.
3. Plans and Pricing
Booklink offers a Free plan and a paid Pro plan. Current pricing is published on our pricing page. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to affected customers.
- Free plan: Limited to 1 service, 1 team member, and 30 bookings per month. No credit card required.
- Pro plan: Unlocks unlimited services, unlimited bookings, up to 5 team members, payment integrations, WhatsApp reminders, Google Calendar sync, and more.
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time; your Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period, after which your account reverts to the Free plan.
4. Free Account Inactivity Policy
To keep the platform efficient and secure, we apply an inactivity policy to Free plan accounts:
- If a Free account has no login activity for 60 consecutive days, we will send an inactivity warning email to the account's registered email address.
- If no login occurs within 7 days of the warning, the account will be scheduled for deletion.
- Scheduled accounts enter a 30-day retention period during which the account can be recovered by contacting support.
- After the retention period, the account and all associated data are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Paid (Pro) accounts are not subject to this inactivity policy for as long as the subscription remains active.
5. Payments
Booklink integrates with third-party payment providers (Yoco, Paystack, and PayFast) to enable you to collect payments from your customers. These providers are PCI-DSS certified; Booklink does not store, process, or have access to your customers' card details.
Your use of payment providers is subject to their respective terms of service. Booklink charges zero commission on bookings; the only cost is the monthly Pro subscription fee and any fees charged by your chosen payment provider.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users' accounts
- Send spam, unsolicited communications, or use the Service for phishing
- Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service without our written consent
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
7. Intellectual Property
The Booklink name, logo, and all associated software, designs, and content are the property of Tora Technologies (Pty) Ltd. You retain ownership of all data you upload to the Service.
By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to process, store, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
8. Availability and Warranties
We strive to maintain high availability but provide the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Tora Technologies (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your account enters a 30-day retention period during which you may contact support to reverse the deletion. After 30 days, all account data is permanently and irreversibly deleted.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Western Cape, South Africa.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
