In South Africa, most artists still take bookings in Instagram DMs and ask for a deposit by EFT, then chase proof of payment before confirming. Most artists start with four services. A consultation, often free, where the client talks through the idea. A half-day and a full-day session, each with a deposit. And a free healed touch-up for work done in your studio. If you price sessions by the hour, use service variants on a single session service instead, with a 2, 4 and 6 hour option and a deposit that follows the option chosen.
Deposits are set per service, so the consultation and touch-up stay free to book while every session is secured. The booking stays pending until the payment succeeds and then confirms automatically, which removes the proof of payment step entirely. If you want clients to have the choice, switch on the full payment option so they can settle the whole amount at booking. Your deposit and cancellation policy is yours to set and explain in the service description.
For large custom work, each sitting is its own booking. Set your booking window far enough ahead that clients can plan sittings around healing, and set a minimum notice period so nobody books a full day for tomorrow morning. If a client is committing to a sleeve or back piece, a session package lets them prepay a set number of sittings and book each one from a private link. A sitting cancelled inside your cancellation window returns its credit to the package.
Custom booking questions bring the brief with the booking: placement, approximate size in centimetres, colour or black and grey, first tattoo or not, and an 18 or older confirmation. The booking is held until the payment succeeds, then confirmed automatically, and an abandoned payment releases the slot. How the deposit comes off the final price, and when it is refundable, stays your policy. Refunds are made from your gateway dashboard.
Create a consultation service, free or paid, with its own duration. Clients book it like any appointment. On Pro, you can switch on Google Meet for an online consultation service so every booking gets its own video link in the confirmation.

You can book the next sitting from your calendar at the end of a session, or sell a session package on Pro, such as four full-day sittings, so the client pays upfront and books each sitting from a private link. Set your booking window so clients can book far enough ahead to fit healing time between sittings.

Yes. Add each artist as a team member (up to 5 on Pro) with their own hours and services. Clients choose the artist they want. If you have fewer stations than artists, set up each station as a room so two clients are never booked onto one station. Rooms are included on every plan.
